I have been given an offer with work to move to Singapore for a minimum of two years. It means moving myself and the family for a minimum period of two years with the possibility of an additional 3 to 5 years. If things go ahead I will be moving in late April \ May with the family following a couple of weeks later.
While I am gone the plan is to rent the family home. Its more to keep the house occupied and safe rather than make money. I will officially be on a 2 year secondment to our Asia Pacific office and all salary will be paid in Singapore.
I will however have to transfer money back on monthly basis to pay mortgage and small personal loan.
What are the tax implications of this move ?
What are the tax implications of transferring money from Singapore to Ireland ?
What about when I get back ?
I hope to have gathered some savings and will be transferring them back
with me ?
What if i got a portion of my salary paid offshore (in Ireland) ? Enough to cover mortgage repayments (I will be fixing my mortgage before I go)
If I am accepting the offer I will get professional advice before singing the contract but this is early days yet. I just want to have an idea of the various implication's associated with the move before I confirm my interest and go down the route of visiting the office over and completing the lengthy process of actually examining the business over there and starting the official route.. (Board approval, spend weeks examining situation in Asia Pacific, studying the market etc.
