I'm thinking about taking up an offer of a new public service job, within the same organisation. As things stand I'm at the top of my current salary scale.
If I move to this new post, my current basic salary is approx. half way along the salary scale of the new post.
So at what point on the scale of the new job would I be placed?
My current post has 6 points on the scale and no Long Service Increment.
The new post has 8 points and 1 Long Service Increment.
Normally in a case like this you would go in the 2nd or 3rd point on the scale. It is very much to the discretion of the new managers and HR's recommendations.
