Hi, I am currently living with my partner and two children under the RAS scheme. One of our daughters is disabled. therefor I am in reciept of Carers Allowance, and my partner is in receipt of Illness Benefit due to an accident at work last year. Due to the mishaps we realise we need more family support and have decided to move home which means moving to another county to be close to a support network, ie the family.
Moving counties means moving councils and also moving to a new HSE district.
Which brings me to my question.
Does anyone know should I be applying for RAS here as I am currently a RAS tenant.
Or should I be applying for Rent Supplement.
If it is the latter, do I need to find a house before I apply for Rental Supplement?
Do I need to quit my RAS contract before I go onto Rental supplement in another county?
I am really confused as to what to do as obviously we cant arrive in the new county with no where to live and my familys house would be far too small to accomodate us.
