Hi I have an apartment on top floor of a building with sloping ceilings and rooflights. one of these rooflights has alot of black staining (probably mopuld of some sort around the edges and smells very musty. tenants are starting to mention it.
what would be causing this and what could be done to sort it oput?
could it have somrthing to do with ventilation in the room or missing insulation? trying to figure whats the best way of going about getting this fixed.
yes, those are the two reasons. Hot moist air condenses on the cold light tunnel. Expell air extractors are insufficient to vent the room. Hot moist air rises up the light well, rather than exhaust through the vent.
is it consolation that most of the Gerry builders and their architects are on the dole? Ireland has no building control, thanks to Fianna fail, but they are still in power. So your local Fianna fail TD is the one responsible for your problem.
