Motorway driving on replacement tyre?

I had a burst tyre last night so had to put replacement tyre on. To get a new tyre I have to go to Mullingar (long story!) from Dublin. The guy who changed my tyre last night said it would be okay to drive that far on the replacement but not to drive faster than 80kmph. Obviously the motorway is the easiest way to get to Mullingar but since I can only drive slowly, should I take the back roads or am I ok to stick in the inside lane of the motorway?

Thanks

Yes, motorway driving is fine at a speed of 80KPH so I dont see any problem. Wouldn't try going any faster as it may affect handling of car.

Thanks for your help. It will be a painfully slow journey but better the motorway than crappy back roads!
