Motor insurance for short period

Hi there,
While waiting on my new car, I am planning to drive my friends car for few days(10 days) on his insurance. Is it possible for me to get the insurance for shorter period of time? I am a full licence holder.

Don't understand. If you are covered for 10 days on his ins., why do you need shorter insurance period?

Yup. Get him to ring up his ins co and have you put down as a named driver for 10 days (also get quotes for longer periods, as sometimes it can be cheaper to pay for the year!)
