Just noticed Motley Fool.co.uk has launced a share dealing service that looks quite attractive on charges at least.
I've been threatening to ditch Directsharedeal for some time now.
What ye think? http://www.fool.co.uk/share-dealing/share-dealing.htm
I tried to sign up for it and you have to enter a valid UK postcode and a valid UK bank account, when I couldn't the message popped up that you had to be a resident of the UK
How is it better than Keytrade or several US based brokerages? It looks a little bit expensive to me in comparison. Unless you are solely interested in UK markets. I don't see any info on the currency charges, can you fund a Euo account with them?
They are correct though, capital gains apply on disposal of the stock not on the growth while you hold it.Sounds like a roundabout way of saying that you should hold stocks for long periods
The purple TMF Self Select ISA banner link mentions "growth free from CGT". This is correct since ISAs are "gross roll up" products and may have other tax advantages. A moot point for non UK residents though.
