mortgage supplement please help?

Hi I am hoping you can help us we got a figure for our mortgage supplement from the social of €39.20 a week.
I tried to work it out from the other thread but couldn't figure it out!!
We are married couple getting jobseekers benefit of €217.30 each (increase of €13 each for 1 child)
So our total income is €434.60 a week
We have switched or mortgage to interest ponly with the bank for 6 months so our interest only figure is € 545.69 a month.
Can you please tell me is the figure of €39.20 a week right??

As your income from JB x2 is E65 higher than the basic rate of Supplementary Welfare your interest supplement may have been reduced by that amount.

Mortgage int supp. is based on the basic rate of Supp. Welfare (204 +135 +26) and therefore anything above that rate would be classed as extra income

Ok sorry so working it out with your figures our income is €65 above basic supplement a week so thats €65 x 4 weeks is €260 . So do you take our mortage payment which is interest only €545.69 - €260 (figure above) = €285.69 a month??? which is paid by social at the moment we are getting mortage interest supplement from social of €156.80???

There is also a minimum contribution which you have to pay - this is in addition to the amount which Black Sheep explained. The contribution is €24 per week.

Ok so working it out by your figures.
we are €65 above basic rate
€65 plus €24 = €89 a week is our contribution
Mortgage due 136.42 a week - €89 above = €47.42 a week??? Is that right I know it seems like very little in the difference but we are only getting 39.20 a week there is a difference of €8.22 a week.....anything more would help us???

Based on the mortgage amount in your first post - €545.69 per month, this works out at €125.92 per week, not €136.42. Weekly payment is calculated as follows - 545.69 x 12 / 52.

Your total income (434.60) is 68.70 above the SWA rate for your family, which is 365.90.

Your entitlement appears to be 125.92 - 68.70 - 24 = 33.22 pw.

I suggest that the 39.20 you're actually getting means that the CWO hasn't adjusted the mortgage to take account of the increase in minimum contribution which changed from 18 euro to 24 euro from June 2009.

If you've any queries about the amount, it's best to contact the CWO themselves, just to make sure that they've got all the up to date documentation for you.
