mortgage relief

I was talking to a lad today that was telling me that there is a mortgage relief for FTB that was about 7k a year for up to 4 years of starting the mortgage.... but that was all he was able to tell me...

can anyone tell me any more about this ( in plain english) or point me in a direction that i can find some thank

Hey krabik,

You can register online here [broken link removed] if you have your PPS number/s and mortgage account number.

You are entitled to €4,000 per person so in the case of joint mortgage its €8,000 per annum. €8,000 * 20% = €1,600/12 = €133.33 (approx €66.67 per person per month) and the tax is deducted at source before the mortgage repayment is deducted from your account.
