Mortgage protection is all you need to satisfy legal requirements.
Excuse my ignorance, but don't mortgage providers insist on it?there's no legal obligation to have mortgage protection insurance.
Whilst it might be preferred - there's no legal obligation to have mortgage protection insurance.
Have you any basis for that assertion?if you can meet at least one of the exceptions, the lender cannot insist on you having mortgage protection insurance as a condition of the loan
To be honest, trying to get out of mortgage protection isn't a wise course of action. Mortgage protection is not expensive but having to pay for a mortgage yourself is, especially when you can insure that risk relatively cheaply. The wording from Citizens info is somewhat misleading; if you can meet at least one of the exceptions, the lender cannot insist on you having mortgage protection insurance as a condition of the loan.
It's not a question of 'trying to get out of it'. Many people with existing medical conditions can't get such cover.trying to get out of mortgage protection isn't a wise course of action
Have you any basis for that assertion?

How am I incorrect? And I would equally respectfully suggest that you are incorrect and I have personal knowledge to support.
You are incorrect on this point.afraid your “personal knowledge” on this topic is flawed
I suspect you know full well that you have been caught out talking nonsense but you are not prepared to admit it publicly. You are incorrect on this point.
