I recently went for a morgage with my local Bank B.O.I.
Have 40 k in savings and wanted 190k of a loan to build my house they will give me 180k to build have my own site.Earn 36k gross plus around 4k in expenses tax free and have a company van.Is it worth shopping around for a cheaper one??or are the rate fairly good? 815.79/month is what ill have to pay in year two.Have all my accounts with them If I moved to another bank would they give me the 190kas I have no outstanding loans?Any help would be great

On €36k per year you should qualify for €190,000 elsewhere.
Bank of Ireland rates are good but not the best in the market.
It always make sense to shop around.

Another point worth considering is that it may not make sense to have your mortgage and current account with the same bank. See here
