Hi all, I would greatly appreciate a bit of help on this one - Myself and Mrs. Leftfield have recently inherited my wife's family home. There is no mortgage on it but we do want to extensively renovate it. We estiamte the cost of this would be about €100,000 maximum and the house is worth about 2 and a half times that.

Would anyone know if any banks would be willing to give us a loan/mortgage for €100k if we use the house as collateral. We are both in full time permanent jobs she is a public servant, me a manager in large company and we have both had the same employer for over 15 years.

Many Thanks for any advice in advance

It would depend on the level of your other borrowings, and of course, your credit record.

Assuming you are not already overborrowed, you should be able to get a mortgage to do up the house.
