I have a query re mortgage interest relief (MIR) - I have only learned today that your Mortgage interest relief should be on you primary residence - I bought a house in 2007 and married in 2011 and moved into a new home - My name is on both mortgages - I have the MIR on my 2007 house and we never applied for any for the new 2011 house. How do I go about changing this over and what effect will it have - to move the MIR from my 2007 home to the new 2011 house - is there a form and also will i be penalised? many thanks
