Mortgage Debt Counsellor - Query regarding job description

Unfortunately I think it is only a matter of time before my current job is no longer available so I am currently searching for alternative employment.

While looking at the FAS website today, I came across an advertisment for Mortgage Debt Counsellors with an English company but working around the Limerick area.

It is an area that I would have some experience in although the ad said it was of benefit but not a neccessity as full training was given.

I am wondering if it is a kind of mikey mouse job as it states that essentially you are self employed and need to make your own tax & prsi returns. Does anyone do this or have you heard of it? From the ad. I am assuming that you are a debt collector, trying to make an arrangement for people to clear their debts and payment would be by way of a % of this?

I did ring the company but the girl whose name was given as contact was out for a week and I am wondering if it is worth my while sending in a c.v. in the meantime.

On another note, I am looking at probably off the wall possibilites for a complete change of scene and saw a job requesting foliage harvesters. In recent years I have a real longing to work outside, but am not entirely sure what is involved. If anyone has heard of this or knows exactly what it entails I would love to hear about it.

Thanks

it states that essentially you are self employed and need to make your own tax & prsi returns.

Sounds iffy. If that's the case, then they should be looking for third-party service contractor quotations and not CVs. I find it odd that Fas have no standards to avoid this sort of issue.

Why thank you pique...only for you...! Yes it is harvesting foliage (leaves/flowers) of some description. What I mean is, is anyone doing it and is it very physical work, do you need to be a big strong person to do it, do you need to work at heights, do you work alone or in groups (it did state it is in a forest), the hours were 8 to 5, what about winter time when it is dark at 4.30, those are the sort of things I was curious about. I should have been somewhat more specific.

I was a bit dubious about it ubiquitous but was unsure as it appeared on what I would have thought to be a very reputable site.
