Hi, I applied for Mortgage assistance and am receiving € 48.00 per week. ( our monthly Mortage is currently € 800. per month, and out life cover at €184.00 per month as hubby had tumour removed in 2007, so class high risk form insuance company ) My husband is currnetly on illness beneifit at a rate of €261.40 per week. I job share and take home € 213. per week. We have two children aged 14 and 9, and other than child benefit are not in reciept of any other benefit. From reading other Thread the amount seems quite low. Does any one know how the payments are worked out ???

Have a look at this post which explains how Mortgage Interest Supplement is calculated.

Your life cover premium is not included, and while your mortgage is €800 per month, the interest may be less than that.

The SWA rate for your family size (2 adults + 2 children) is €391.90

Are you also entitled to Family Income Supplement? You are well below the income limit. May be worth your while checking.

Just to add that you need to be working a minimum of 19 hours per week (or 38 per fortnight) to qualify for FIS.
