Our mortgage term ends this year, we owe 68 thousand approx not sure if this includes 13 grand arrears. We have had arrangement with them past several years, we pay them 500 pm never missed payment or late payments. We are both pensioners with small private pension 140.00 pm. We have cr union debts of 2000 2500. We went to mabs and they proposed personal Insolvency, what advice would you give.? The mortgage want 1100.00 . We are in contact with cr unions to reduce payments. I just want peace mind now without the daily weekly calls and letters. Will be grateful for any advice,

Is there any reason why you think you should not follow the advice of MABS? You must have given them all your facts and figures. Are you looking for alternative views?

On the basis that MABS had all of the detail, their advice is probably more meaningful. Have you a particular reason not to want to follow their advice? Try to stay calm and, tough as it may be, try to stop this issue from dominating your life and dragging you down. How much is the house worth? Are family in a position to help? Do you have any other assets? On the income side, is that €1,400 per month and what is your total joint income per month?

Hello lady

You will need to provide the following information to get a useful answer.

First thing is to just pay what you can on the mortgage. They have zero chance of forcing any sale. Stand firm and only talk to people by written letter or email. It might help if you could give us the current value of your house and what your total net income is per month. I think you are syaing that you both get the state pension of about 1k each per month and a further 1400 per month from a private one. Is that correct ?
