Hi there, I'm trying to move my fixed mortgage at 3.9 % to a lower rate at another bank. I have 2.5 years left on my fixed mortgage amount 213000 with AIB. I am being charged a breakage fee of 3200 which is very high compared to 1600 a few weeks ago. Does the new EU directive on this help me in any way? I have requested a full breakdown of the fee.
