Re: mobile broadband
Hi VTI,
Im using 3G Broadband as this is one of the few broadband services I can get as im based in Co Laois.
Here is my experience, I firstly bought the Vodafone BB, however the speeds were just as bad as a dial up connection, so I purchased 3G and it works for what is needed.
3G costs 129.00euros for the modem and then 19.99euros per month for 10GB data transfer
Vodafone is 99.00euros for modem and then 9.99 euros for the first three months and then 30euros thereafter as far as im aware, however they only give you a 5GB data transfer
O2 is the most expensive so i would not bother with this one at 40.00euros per month.
Please note on 02, 3g and vodafone the broadband can be fast or very slow or not working at all depends on where in the country you are based, the way things work it depends on how many people are logged into the network at one time, imagine everybody using there mobile at one time of the day the network can crash or the network can be busy it works the same for the broadband, the mobile broadband operators cannot control how many users login or logout at one time therefore the Mobile BB is not very reilable.
If your downloading don't bother with any of the above as
you will go over your usage so quickly therefore it will cost you more in the long run plus its slow.
If your browsing and buying stuf online then mobile BB is good if you can get online again depends on if your in coverage or not, don't mind what vodafone, 3G or 02 say they will all tell you have coverage, just start with the cheapest which I would say is 3G try it out if it does not work for you ensure you return it within 14 days so you can get your money back and no harm done, then try another
Best of luck
