Any special offers or price changes for 1st January 2017 will be shown on the Health Insurance Authority website at the end of this week.
Just to note, your 18 year old son will be no longer classed as a child and will move into the 'young adult' category for Health Insurance purposes.
There are a number of alternative VHI options to keep in mind for 1/1/2017 subject to prices remaining the same.
Adult Alternatives; similar cover as before with higher excess on admission or day case;
1. VHI PMI 35 13; price 1238; similar hospital cover as before, private/hi-tech excess 100 per admission or day case, day to day as before.
2. Company Plan Plus Level 1.3; price 1131pa; similar hospital cover as before, private/hi-tech excess 150 per admission or day case, day to day
cover same as before. No excess applies to any public hospital.

9 year old and 15 year old alternative;
1. One Plan Family; price 152 per child; same hospital cover as before, excess 125 per admission or day case.

18 year old and 20 year old alternative;
The following option has a selected list of public and private hospitals which may or may not suit your location, if you are Dublin based there is a
very good selection. If not plan PMI 12 11 would be the next best.
1. Start Plan 250; price 189pa ( this price applies to both ages) selected public and private hospitals, check list on attached link to make sure
the hospitals would suit your location. If suitable there are good savings achievable here.

Based on the above prices, it is possible to keep the overall cost similar to last year, if it suits.
1131 + 152 + 152 + 189 + 189 = 1833.
As previously mentioned, the overall situation on prices for 1 Jan 2017 will be known by the end of this week.
