MIR: Mortgage Account Number

Hi All,

I'm trying to fill in an application for MIR online and it requires the 8 digit account number of the mortgage. We requested the account number from AIB and they sent us a letter with an account number in the following format:

0123456/001/01 012

The MIR online application system does not accept this number and says it must be an 8 digit account number. Does anyone know if the 8 digit account number is some combination of the account number given by AIB or do we need to contact AIB again to find out?

I did a online trs for my sister inlaw and had to enter 8 zeros . Checked with revenue and they said that was the case for BOI

Does the mortgage account number come up on your statements when the money comes out?

Hi All,

Well I figured out what was going on after calling the Revenue helpline. When I was filling in the application I was selecting AIB but I should have been selecting AIB Finance and Leasing as that uses a 12 digit number (so it's all the digits excluding the last 3).

The 12 digit account number is used for the mortgage payments too.
