Windows movie maker is fine, basic, easy to use. But it's tempermental. Don't make your movie too long (more than 15 mins) or it might not save...it'll give some kind of error regarding memory, file location - but it's because it's too long. Just had to break up my movie into 13 parts to save it, it was 1 hour 10 mins long. I then used Nero to make my DVD (the 13 parts then became the chapters). It does allow easy insertion of photos/music/titles, cutting of sections.
