I was getting driving lessons from this company and I have just found out that they have shut down. They never informed me of this.
They owe me approx €140 as I had pre-booked lessons.

I spoke to my instructor who was employed by them and he told me that the owner of the company gave all of the instructors just 2 hours notice and then he folded the company. <potential defamation snipped by ajapale>

I tried ringing the company and their phone lines have been cut.

I now need to somehow get my money back.

Balls!!!!

Did you pay by Credit Card?

If so, you can get a refund from the Credit Card company.

Otherwise, you are unlikely to get a refund.

You could try filing a claim with the Small Claims Court, although if the business has gone bankrupt you could find yourself in a long queue, and could be unsuccessful if the directors cannot be located.

Any chance you paid for the lessons by credit card? If so, you may be able to reclaim the cost.

Best of luck.
