I cannot open photos that are attached to emails as individual files but I can view them in the body of the email. Is there some setting in outlook that i need to activate in order to open the files
Not sure if this helps too much, but if you right click on the photo you can "save picture as...". Don't know of any setting to see the picture as an attachment though.
