Medical for life insurance

Hi

I had a medical for life insurance 18 months ago, I am now updating the policy for a new mortgage on a new house, my broker told me today the new policy is being underwritten, probally a silly question but I am clueless but does this mean the life policy is going ahead and that I do not need another medical?

Thanks for any answers

It depends. The underwriter will assess your proposal and depending on your medical history may request a PMA (previous medical attendance) report from your GP and/or a medical examination. They won't as a rule have access to the medical you had 18 months ago.
