Hi All, just a quick question. If you make a claim for personal expenses and it shows on your PAYE Anytime account as passed for payment, how long does it usually take to receive payment to your bank account. Thanks in advance

If it's of any help I had a similar experience with my claim and contacted the Revenue on it. They advised that as the claim was for 2015 they would not be in a position to issue a refund until I received and entered my P60 details for the year!

Sorry to tag onto this - when entering your expenses, do you enter the amount of the expense(s) or the amount of tax relief you are claiming on it (i.e. 20%)? Thanks :)

Just checked my bank account this morning and it's already in. That was efficient!

Gravitygirl, put in the full amount of your expenses and they will do the rest.

I have a question,
if i spend around300 euros/year on medications. could i claim any tax back?
i dont have medical card.

Yes, you can claim relief as long as they are qualifying expenses. Have a look at the key point on the topic for more information.

If all your expenses qualify, you will get €60 tax back ( 20% of 300)

i have been trying to find the keypoint what are the qualifying criteria but i couldn't.

I would appreciate if you can send me a link pls, where I could check and see if my meds are qualifying the criteria or not.

many thanks

Have a look at the link here: http://www.revenue.ie/en/tax/it/leaflets/it6.html

Basically anything prescribed, meds or appliances, and dental other than cleaning and scaling etc. Incidentally, if your monthly spend exceeds €144 per family, http://www.hse.ie/eng/services/list/1/schemes/drugspaymentscheme/ it will be free or reimbursed by PCRS, HSE, Finglas, so won't be 'claimable'.
