A male friend of mine originally did a media based degree and a masters in media production in London, but has since been working as an aca accountant.

Its an area he'd really like to return to and is just wondering about salaries if doing production work for RTE/TV3. Obviously initially it would be lower than what he's earning as an accountant but would this rise and level out?

He doesn't mind taking a pay cut as he'd be doing something he enjoys every day but is just wondering about remuneration in the long term.

Any information would be great!!
 
I suspect his reason for not doing it originally is that its hard area to break into and in generally it initially doesn't pay that well for quite while. That would still apply. Long term is hard to quantify as it would depend on too many factors. I suspect few do very well, most earn average salaries.
