Maternity Leave last year, mortgage app this year

Hi folks,

I am trying to prepare a strong app for the shared ownership scheme at the moment.

My query is, I was on Maternity Benefit from Sept until March this year.

I was paid by by employer my wage amount EXCLUSIVE of MBenefit, as this was paid directly to me.

Now I am looking at my P60 and it is showing my Gross wage at roughly 5k less than my annual salary amount. does this mean that Council will think I am making up my salry amount or is there something on it that indicates to them the situation. (A1 or AL) or would I be best advised to provide a letter with it explaining that I was on Maternity Leave?

They should accept the explanation but as you suggested, it would be better to have a letter from your employer just in case.
