Married Income Tax?????

We got married recently and totally confused about our options whether we opt for joint assessment ,single etc.... I earn approx 45,000 per year this is more than my husbands who do we nominate as the one to be assessed by revenue .Which option is more appropriate to us? Help
 
In general, it usually makes sense for the higher earner to be the assessed spouse
This means that if your husband is in the lower tax band, then you can make the most of his tax credits and bands. How much of a difference this makes depends on how much less than you that her earns.
