Married couple taxation with foreign income

I work in RoI and my husband works in NI, we previously lived in NI but are shortly moving to RoI (my husband will continue to work in NI). up to now I have been taxed as a single person but I believe when we are both irish resident we can apply for married persons taxation. We are planning to use my husbands salary for expenses we still have in NI (still have mortgage payments etc.) so is this exempt from irish tax if it is not remitted to ireland (I understand we will not become ordinarily resident for 3 years)? How does this affect the married couple taxation? Would be more beneficial to claim Transborder Worker Relief in respect of my husbands income even if this income is not remitted?
