First of all please forgive me but i am as thick as a ditch i got married last year yet didnt take husbands surname, and didn't realise that i needed to let the social welfare know only found out today when husband went in to make a claim as he is on a 3day wk and i am on disability allowance due to long term illness i am in a terrible state here, will my D.A now be cut or will i lose it alltogether and will i lose housing benefits as well, i really dont know what to do and am worried sick i am frightened that i will be asked to pay back money etc that i do not have, i have had bad experiences with the social welfare in the past when i first claimed D.A and am terrified to approach them about the fact i was so thick as not to know i had to let them know can anyone please advise? thankyou
