Hello...

I have ~20/30K Euro and am looking to invest in a short to medium term investment. Appreciate any advice to a novice investor?
Can anyone give any recommendations?

Depends on so many factors that you haven't mentioned e.g. current mortgage, savings debts etc. Try the money makeover forum.

You might be lucky and earn about €300 pa for the 30k and then pay tax on that. Then again Cheltenham is coming up in March or thereabouts. What's your risk threshold?

There is almost one of these threads a day and the answer is the same. Nobody can advise you on how to invest 30k euro with such little (in fact zero) information. Otherwise as above about Cheltenham, just "Put it on red" is as good as anything. Here is another of these threads, and as you will see, the very first reply is "Way more information needed".

100K to invest please recommend best options.

Hi I am in the lucky position of having 100k to invest so wondering whether to use it as a down payment on a buy to let and top up with a mortgage to around 250k or would an investment fund be a better way to go, or what other suggestions might you guys have.

investing 30k cannot be done in isolation and must be considered the the context of the rest of your finances. Example, if you have 30k credit card or car loan debt, the advice would be do not invest it, pay your debts. Similarly if you've a mortgage your could pay it off that for guaranteed return. You need to give a complete overall view of your finances, as per the money makeover template (in the money makeover section).
