Luas fare on the Tallaght line allows adults traveling 3 stages
to travel the 4th stage for free.
Children traveling 3 stages must pay extra to travel the 4th
stage.
I have complained to Luas management and Dept of
Transport about this being discriminatory to children but
they tell me it is not!
Surly it is unfair to children?
Buses have stages, Luas (look - !) has zones. I can't see anything about this special offer on the Luas website. Maybe the Equality Authority could advise you about this complaint? Surely one could equally argue that this offer discriminates against users of the Luas Green Line (even if it only spans three zones in total)?
The starting point is that a child's fare is lower. You might as well call this unfair discrimination against adults. I don't think that a complaint of discrimination would really hold up in the circumstances.
