I'm looking to buy a cheap-ish leather sofa / suite. say a 3,2,and maybe 1. Where would be the best places to look. I need to in the next few weeks so a 12-14 week wait is not an option.
I was looking at one on Cost plus sofas (long mile rd) at the 3 & 2 were 1000, and they said it was in stock - but the quality wasn't very good. Any experience with this company?
Any other recommendations ?
If you run the search option in this forum you may find a previous mention of Cost Plus.
Don't have leather myself but have heard plenty of people mention that you definitely get what you pay for when it comes to leather. In buying cheap you may not get value for your money in the long run.
How cheap? I ask because the difference between in-expensive and cheap are worlds apart! I priced a 3+2 in a number of shops and there is a huge difference in quality and price. Domus furniture, Diamond furniture and Harvey Norman are good and each very different.
If you near Clearys or Arrnott's have a look. I've often seen suites reduced from about €2500 to about €1200 & they are usually ready to delivery. Bear in mind, they might be ex-display so take a really good look at them. I got my 3-1-1 for about the above price...there were 1 or 2 scuff marks, but after a week, you wouldn't even notice them!
And if you want a good bargain and you are not bothered about brand new there are some good bargains to be had on sites like gumtree.ie and donedeal.ie and also adverts.ie.
If you are Dublin based Buckleys Auctioneers in 27 Sandycove Road D'Laoire tel 2844717 might be worth a look. I sold a leather sofa and large armchair last year and was very pleased with their service.
I collected a leather corner sofa from CLASSIC FURNITURE in carrickmines for a friend during the week it was approx 10' x8' and they paid €1600 marked down from €2150.I had tought they were closing down but i was assured by the salesman that they were'nt, so bargains are still to be had there.
