I'm planning on doing some minor work in my house, not building, just knocking walls so that the space we have is better used. Has anyone had an architect for a small project like this and have you any idea of how much it would cost? This will be the third time we've done work on the house and I've made mistakes before so would like this time to get it right. My problem in the past is that I've always been afraid to spend money (still am- the result of having frugal parents!!) so I've done things cheaply.
Any thoughts or suggestions?
ETA: I've put the cart before the horse probably, but I've already had a structural engineer around to look at the wall I want taken down. I'm now thinking I should probably have an architect first?
