Hi

I want to hang a large magnetic board in my kitchen, ideally 600mmx1200mm or approximately.

Anyone know where I can find them?

If not, where would I go to have one made? What type of metal is used for a magnetic board?

Many thanks

Betsy

I got one a few years ago for a work project.
It was a white board which was also magnetic, about the same size.
I got it from the office supplies company our company used at the time. I'm not sure of the name , but any office supplies place should be able to get one for you. The golden pages or similar might be your best bet.

Betsy stay away from Viking/Offic Depot they are much dearer than most suppliers on every front.

P.S. Why do most people order from the above two companies when this is quite clearly the case?.

You could paint a section of the wall with magnetic paint - as far as I know you can put on the magnetic paint and then put ordinary paint on over it, so that section is magnetic but doesn't look any different to the rest of the room.

Convenience?

How much dearer are they, in your experience? I find them OK for what I buy (general office supplies).

That magnitic paint idea sounds pretty cool. Anyone have any experence of how well it works, and does it affect the finish on the walls, where it can be got??

The finish we have is bumpy, a bit like woodchip wallpaper. Weak magnets won't hold an A4 sheet without careful placing. You'll need strong magnets. Magnetic whiteboard works better...

Hi

Thanks for your replies, I found this one, and am going to order it on Monday [broken link removed]

They are dearer on all fronts. Their service levels are poor and they are not forthcoming with information that could save you money for example cheaper options.

Any suggestions for online cheaper alternatives that will deliver same/next day to Dublin suburbs? I find the same as one of the other posters above - viking (which is Office Depot's Irish company so they aren't really 2 alternatives, just a single company) are very convenient, I have found their service to be good and they will deliver next day even if it's not a big order. I'll happily use an alternative if they offer the same service but are cheaper.

Did you ever get this, Betsy? I'm looking for one but the site says that they deliver to the UK only. It's also rather on the expensive side.
