Lodging a cheque/cashing a cheque

Hi, I have a cheque for 1k .Its an AIB one & I'm going to lodge it to my girlfriends account in the morning.She has an AIB account too.Thing is I *REALLY* need the cash ASAP, would it be there instantly? Also is there any other way to cash it?

If it is crossed and not made out to your girlfriend, you may have trouble lodging it to her account.
