Ive been listening to Derek Davis (Joe Duffys stand in) on RTE's liveline over the summer.
They have covered the delay (over two months) in Old Age Pensioners getting their Old Age Pension. This has knock on in terms of other benefits such as free travel etc. Some pensioners have been forced into overdraft situations while they wait for the Department in Sligo to resolve the issue.
Firstly, does any one know whether these delays have been resolved?
Secondly, is it possible for a sixty four year old to apply in advance for the OAP.
Thirdly, In the case where there is a problem with the Contriburory OAP whether the Non Contributory OAP can be paid while the investigations continue.
