Lived in UK but paid in Ireland - worth it to apply?

I've helped a number of friends and relations to apply for the UK State Pension based on the advice on this forum - thank you all for the great information!

It's only recently that I realised that I might just qualify myself, a long shot perhaps. Does anyone thing I'd have a chance if I applied?

I worked for a UK company for 20 years from 2002 to 2022 though I was:
- tax resident in Ireland and paid from their Ireland limited company as a full time employee (paying Irish Income Tax, PRSI, etc) during all that time.
- My job was UK based and I worked their UK customers.
- I applied for a UK National Insurance number but didn't go to the second interview stage as I'd decided to continue to be paid in Ireland by that point.
- I was renting a place in Dublin also during this time.

I rented in several places in the UK, stayed in hotels for a while, stayed with a brother in London for a while, and eventually bought an apartment over there - I rented it out initially but lived in it myself for 2 years (paid the poll tax/community charge, had utilities in my name, etc).

So I've no NI number that I know of, but am sure I could prove I was living in the UK for 3 years and more by providing rental agreements, utility bills, etc.

Is there any point in applying? I'm 50 and didn't make any NI contributions at all to the UK so I'd be paying everything from scratch. I'm guessing not but thought worth asking, thanks in advance for any guidance!
