The Government should allow a reduction to local property tax for houses that have A or B BER energy ratings. The government could further incentivise homeowners to reduce energy wastage by reducing the property tax by 50% to A rated homes and 33% to B rated homes. It would cost approx. 20k euro to bring the average house to A rating and the government would collect VAT on this amount up front. Plenty of employment would be created and the local and global environment would be improved.
