Hi, I am 28 and have a full driving licence. I want to buy a 125 cc moped but don't have bike licence. Can I get a provisional licence to drive a 125cc bike or do provisionals only cover 50cc mopeds ?
Thanks,
Stephen

Once you're over 18 you can get a provisional licence to drive class A (all bikes) or A1 (51cc/125cc), with certain sensible — no sidecars, no pillion passenger, etc. Mopeds <50cc and/or with a speed capability <45km/h are categorised as class M, and you are entitled to drive them automatically if you hold a full (class B) car licence. Your insurance will be cheaper after you pass the and get a full A/A1 licence — although you can drive for years accident/claim-free and get no NCB...
