Venue: The Button Factory, Dublin Date and time: Tue 03 Feb 2009 20:00

Join host David McWilliams and a panel of experts including former Finance Minister, Alan Dukes; columnist John Waters; John O'Shea of GOAL and PR expert and Polish immigrant, Izabela Chudzicka to discuss the state of the Irish economy today.

"Ireland in the Global Market: Are our Economy and Banks an International Embarrassment?"

Also featuring comedy and musical satire from Paddy Cullivan and guests.

As Ireland enters 2009 with fear and trepidation, some serious questions need to be addressed. How did we get into this mess? Can we really blame global markets entirely? Can we trust the banks? Is globalisation bad for us? Will the Irish have to emigrate en masse again, this time perhaps to Poland? If so, do we now have room for foreign workers in Ireland? Is it your patriotic duty to "buy Irish" as we are being urged? How much responsibility should the present Governement take for this mess?
