Hi I was reading some posts the other night about people receiving letters about their benefits etc and lo and behold I received one today that someone is visiting on Tuesday. I work part time which the department are fully aware of as twice yearly I have had to send in op1 or something like this. The hours of the visit are between 10 and 2.30 so I would have to take time off etc. Plus I have to have some documents long form birth certs for I would assume myself and the boys. I myself dont have a long form as I am adopted so have never had one and I dont have a current passport. The boys have long form so that is okay. Proof of residency rent, mortgage etc. I live in a council house so I have a rent card rather than a book but I dont religiously keep statements however I can dig out a rent statement Im sure. Proof of savings, investments which I dont have as I only have a current account with a small overdraft but the boys both have credit union books. I was wondering if anyone knows as I dont work that far from where I live would she visit me in work and I can sit down with her in private and then we can go down to our home in case she wants to have a look or whatever. Rather than me having to take time off as I have to have Wednesday off as my son has an endocrine appointment in Beaumont and last week a day off for confirmation, so I didnt want to be asking again for time if it can be avoided especially as everyone is watching their backs in work in the current climate and a lot of people have been let go.

Paragraphs would help.

And ..... if you are looking for advice/input .... the odd question or two might help also.

Hi

Sorry Paddy

Got carried away typing - yes and I was looking for input or advice. Apologies. Just wondering if my short form birth cert is ok and also if it would be ok to invite the lady to work to see me.

Jamie, if you have the name of the person, it might be worth ringing them and asking them if they could do that. Hopefully they can accommodate you.

If you don't have a long form cert - a passport will do either.

If the appt doesn't suit you, give a ring to make other arrangements. It's unlikely they will visit you at work - and will probably be suspicious of you suggesting that.

Ok thanks for your suggestions. I do have a name and a number so I shall call them on Monday.
