I bought new door furniture for my nice, newly painted house. Foolishly I imagined that it would be a simple matter of unscrewing the old stuff & attaching the new... sigh.
Anyway, removing the old letter box was a trial and I basically broke it, the new one is a good 1/2 cm too large both in length & width for the present opening and I'm not doing too well on making the opening bigger. I've tried a hacksaw, purchased an implement called a padsaw, but not really getting very far.
Is there a trick to cutting a post box space in a wooden side panel? Please help - at the moment I have the space stopped up with a fetching tea-towel, but it can't stay like that!
