Let go after 8 weeks

Just wondering if anybody has any advice here. I went into work last Friday as normal, my boss arrived into work (owner) and just said "it's not working out and we have decided not to keep your job open", I was shocked but most of all annoyed at the way it was carried out. She came up with a number of excuses as to why I didnt suit the position, and basically was told to leave there and then. I had not been given any indication that they were not happy with my performance. This is a really smalll company and to be honest I had been warned about them.

I presume because I was not there for a long period of time - I do not have entitlements, but have I grounds for unfair dismissal?

Thanks

Did the company want to give your job to someone else, e.g. a friend of the owners, or did the company think they could get someone else to work for less money.

Maybe you could ask them for examples of where your work was not up to standard.

I think you are well rid of them.

Best wishes.

There is another thread at the moment called "fired after 2 weeks" on this topic. You cannot take an unfair dismissals case. There is very little you can do unless the employer is in breach of a term of the contract on notice.
