Hi

I started work this year working in a private business college in Dublin - but I just had a very quick question - do lecturers normally get paid for correcting exam papers and assignments or is it just taken as part of the job in terms of getting paid our standard hourly rates?

I'm not sure what the norm is and I don't want to come across as greedy but there is nothing in my contract about it and it takes the guts of a week for me to mark 30 plus papers for each of my 3 classes.

Any ideas?

Thanks

It depends on the College/University. TCD pay their lecturers an Exam allowance every month for marking papers.
