Leaving Ireland

Hi all,

I'm leaving Ireland after 2y and a half :(
I'm a contractor and I'm wondering which module should I send to the Revenue to claim everything I can (in terms of taxes).. like
- rent relief for these 7 months
- overpaid taxes
- etc.
I'm registered for Personal Income Tax.
I've also heard that there is a document to tell the Revenue that I won't work again in Ireland before the end of 2010.. and in this way I can have some taxes back as well.
Any idea of the documents I need to fill-in?
Thanks ;)

hi Mcik, we deal specifically with contractors in your situation. As your a contractor its most likely you will need to do a form 11 for 2010. As a person registered for income tax there is no way of getting your tax back early (as a regular employee you could through a P50). Important to notify Revenue correctly and to take tax advice in relation to going abroad as a resident person in normally subject to tax on their worldwide income in the year of leaving unless specific releif is claimed. BTW we also deal with contractors abroad and register them for taxes and pay taxes locally. It would be very worthwhile to look at your situation in advance of going as you might qualfiy for an E101 saving you a whack of PRSI which could otherwise be payable in the foreign country.
