Just noticed that our wooden garden shed roof is leaking in a few places. Has anyone re felted the roof on a shed and would I need a handyman for this job.
This happened to us before, and my OH was able to do the job - just got some felt in B&Q and then nailed it on - He just put it over the existing felt. Took him an afternoon - you do not need to be a DIY expert - fairly easy job ( so long as you have easy access to all sides of the shed).
roll of heay duty felt, hammer, stanley knife and a handful of clout nails - just take off the timber edging of the roof, put felt on and fix in place with plenty of clout nails - make sure to fold and fix edging and bottom before putting timber battens back in place - should be a 1 hour job max. ensure top piece of felt folds over the ridge.
