LCD screen - intermittent partial screen loss

Hi all

I recently purchased a samsung Syncmaster 2032bw lcd sceen from ebay (which means no comeback methinks..it said a 7 day return policy which is past)

Anyway whilst I am yet to check out that - I want to see if my issue is a simple one to fix...

Basically on initially turning on PC all is fine and picture is good, but then after a random timeframe, a 3 inch wide block running the full length of the screen, top to bottom, around the centre left, blacks out - or has multiple coloured lines.

Does anyone know if this is a driver issue or is the LCD screen just damaged or any other suggestions?

I tried turning off the speakers which sit next to it but made no difference.

Okay I got nowhere with trying to fix this or get the sellor to help out.

I have started chargeback proceedings and will see what happens. Although I doubt this will succeed.

Noone here any other suggestions.

I would rather just get the bloody thing to work.
