Lawn going brown

Hi All,
Would anyone have any idea why my lawn which is approx 3 yrs old has developed alot of brown spots over the last 6 weeks or so. I have fed it twice over the summer and it obviously is well watered. I also saw some small mushrooms growing in it yesterday evening. Any ideas??

Mushroons may be the start of a fairy ring....... possibly due to some organic material -such as some pieces of timber - buried in the garden.
 
Do not let your grass grow too tall? as this holds more moisture, and disease grows in overly wet lawns.
Fertilise your lawn with balanced regular feeds.
Make sure your lawn drains well. Your lawn should be puddle free, 45 minutes after a heavy shower. .
