I am at e stage of levelling heaps of topsoil atthe moment

Can some one please advise me on what is the best way to edge off between the lawn and the driveway

What can be done to minimise trimming the grass with a strimmers

any other related advise on this subject would also be welcome

Some form of kerbing will be usefull in keeping traffic off the grass. On the grass side of this kerb, leave a 2-3" concrete border at soil level. That'll give you a nice clean edge to the grass that you can just run the mower over, and zero strimming.
